Hong Kong Part 4: Disneyland - Adventureland

After a good night's rest, we were ready to take on Disneyland again. This time, ADVENTURELAND!

Cruise is available in 3 different languages and you are to queue according to the language of your preferred choice.
Waiting time for all the three languages are the same.

It doesn't matter where you sit as there are lots to see on both sides.

... until it suddenly opened its mouth!

The water suddenly bubbled over, causing the water to swerve to the side...

... followed by a huge fiery explosion. Everyone got a shock, especially the ones sitting closer to the fire.
We could feel the heat from the boat. A. got so frightened by the explosion that she cried.

Next up, a water-bomb!

The chaotic ride ended with greetings from a docile baby elephant which did much to calm A. and K..

Different show times. We went for the 12pm show. Good to hide away from the heat.

Impressive. A must watch. Very entertaining.

Getting the jungle beat going

The heat was once again unleashing its overwhelming power. We had to seek shelter somewhere while the kids went for their favourite rides again...and again...and again. To end off the wonderful few days spent in Disneyland, I took a train ride at Main Street.

It had been a great time despite the unwelcoming heat. I will definitely be back again and I am sure the kids would have no objection to that. Next time, I would avoid the heat and come in the cooler months. So long, Disneyland!

Hong Kong Part 3: Disneyland - Toy Story Land, Mystic Point, Grizzly Gulch and Fireworks

It was almost 5pm so the heat was slowly easing on us. I was sure I got three tones darker.

Toy Soldier Parachute Drop. Too scary for me but the kids had no fear of heights at all.
A very popular ride with the public. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes.

RC Racer! Too much for me to handle.

Slinky Dog Spin. Apparently, the dog chases his tail around. K just woke up from her nap so we skipped this ride too. The rest of the kids went for it, after a 25-30 minutes wait.

Love how their toilets are so toy-like too.

Mystic Manor where Lord Henry keeps his collection of art and antiquities

Once inside, Lord Henry greeted us, explaining to us the most mysterious treasure chest he has in his manor.
If one were to open the chest, its magical power would cause all non-living things to come alive.
Of course, that is where the journey starts. We boarded the magneto-electric cars and that was when Lord Henry's travel companion, a monkey, opened the treasure chest. Suddenly, everything went haywire.

Plants becoming man-eating plants.

Painting turned all wintery and cold wind blew through the building. The electric cars were spinning around so fast and we were all caught up in the frenzy.

Coupled with loud fiery blasts, it was quite a stimulating ride for the senses.

Our electric cars swerved to escape the arrows only to find Lord Henry's monkey in a sticky situation on the wall behind us. You never know what you are going to get in this ride. Other rides usually focus on what is in the front. Mystic Manor makes sure you watch your own back.




Lord Henry finally appeared and asked if the monkey opened the treasure chest. Needless to say, the latter replied in the negative. The kids went on about how he lied. Well, at least they understood the storyline.



GRIZZLY GULCH: It was getting late but we had to get at least one ride on the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars. It goes up the mountain before sliding back in high speed. Needless to say, the kids loved it.

Made our way quickly to the Sleeping Beauty Castle to catch the fireworks display at 8pm.
It was always very crowded. Headed to Main Street (where the merchandise shops are) to get some breathing space.
Despite the distance, K still found the fireworks to be too loud.
